Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Who designed your blog?
Answer: I designed my own blog... I love designing blogs, but it isn't something I am going to take on right now. (Maybe in the future??) I learned how to do everything through YouTube and Google.

Question: What reading program are you using?
Answer: My school district uses the Houghton Mifflin Reading program. This is usually the reading program that I create my phonics units for (sometimes I do my own thing--depending on what my students currently need help with).

Question: I would like to start creating my own lesson plans. Do you know of any good programs I should use to get started?
Answer: Creating your own lesson plans can be a lot of fun! Many teachers prefer to use Microsoft PowerPoint, because it is easy and user friendly. You can also use Microsoft Word or any other program that allows you to save your document as a PDF. I personally use Adobe Illustrator. I have been using it for about 8 years and although it can be a very difficult program to master, I love it! I learned how to use Illustrator on my own, through YouTube videos and Google {they are my BEST friends}.

Question: I love your letter characters! Where do you purchase your clipart?
Answer: I actually create the letter characters, along with some other clipart, myself. They are a lot of fun and my students love them! However, I do purchase clipart from Jessica Weible Illustrations and I love her work. Other great clip art sites are: DJ Inkers and Scappin' Doodles. Make sure you read the terms and conditions CAREFULLY if you choose to use purchased clipart in any TpT or TN products.

Question: I love your free Chicka Chicka, Boom Boom postcard! If it's not too much trouble, would you mind changing the wording on the front for me?
Answer: I am so glad you like it! Unfortunately, all my freebies are presented to you "as is". Since they are free, I will not be customizing them. I'm sure you understand! Sorry!

Question: Have you ever thought about designing Smart Board Lessons?
Answer: I would love to, but I don't even have a Smart Board (*gasp*)!  I create everything for my own classroom first, then I post it on my blog or TpT.  Unfortunately, I don't have time for Smart Board Lessons!

Question: I am new to blogging. Do you have any tips for a new blogger like me?
Answer: Welcome to blogging! I recently posted a few blogging tips here.
