The Teacher Wife had a BABY!

Yep! About 2 months ago I had a baby. A beautiful baby boy. Remember when I posted about my Contractions Packet?  Well, apparently it was good luck, because a few days later I started having real contractions and they put me into labor!

I should probably think about changing the name of this blog to The Teacher Wife MAMA! But I have to be honest with you... right now, I don't feel like much of a teacher (thank you maternity leave) or a wife (sorry honey!). So maybe I'll just change the name to MAMA! ;)

Being a mama to a newborn is exhausting, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Let me tell you this: being a mom is hard work! I thought that being a first grade teacher was hard, but being a mama is so much more challenging for me! I cannot imagine doing both simultaneously. I have a lot of respect for all the teacher/mamas out there! You guys are my heroes and I don't know how you do it. Since I'm on maternity leave, I'm home all day and I still can't manage to take care of my baby, shower, clean, or cook dinner, so I can't imagine doing all those things AND going to work each day.

This little guy has changed my whole world and I can't remember what life was like before him! It feels like he has always been a part of our little family. He has the sweetest little personality and I love him to pieces. He's my new little buddy and I'm excited to learn and grow with him. Since I'm a teacher, he'll be reading before he's out of diapers... right?! (I think I need to buy this onesie.)

My little family:

I'll be posting about his nursery soon. I had so much fun decorating it and I'm excited to show it off and share it with you! I'll also blog about a little birth defect he was born with called clubfoot (talipes).

Thanks for reading! Don't forget to follow me on FacebookInstagram, and Pinterest

You will learn to manage it all because you have to...Just remember to take care of your self so you can take care of everyone else!!! You have a lovely little family there!!! God Bless!

  17. Congratulations to you and your husband! I truly believe that being a mom is the most challenging and rewarding part of my life! The first three months were the most difficult with each of my children (4 of them). Once we found our groove, life got easier and I could take a breath. Enjoy each and every moment with your son!

  19. Congratulations! My first baby (also a boy) was born with (bilateral) club foot- meaning it affected both feet. He was/and still is a sweetie. He will be 16 in June! Oh my how time flies!! We have an amazing orthopaedic surgeon who has been caring for him since he was 4 weeks old. You'd never know he had been born with a birth defect if you saw him today. Being a mom is the most rewarding and challenging job you could ever have. Best wishes to you and your family!

  24. Congratulations! My little guy was born in October...I completely understand what you mean about feeling like you can't get everything done! I feel like I actually accomplished LESS while I was on maternity leave! But now I have a six month old and can't remember what life was like before him (okay, that's not completely true-I do remember sleeping in!).

    Congrats again, he's adorable!
