Test Prep (the cute way!)

My students start taking their end-of-level test next week (EEK!). Since the rest of you are either testing already or getting ready to test, I thought I would share a few things that I am doing to prepare. All of these printables can be found in my Teachers Pay Teachers shop HERE!

1. I will make (or buy) some “Smart Cookies” to remind my students how SMART they are! These will be a great pick-me-up before the test or during a break.

2. Doesn’t everyone need a SHHHH… sign?  It helps keep unwanted visitors out during testing time. Tests are stressful enough without distractions!

3. And last but not least, I will sent this note home with my kids the night before our first test. It’s so important to let parents/guardians know when testing starts so that they can make sure your students get a full night’s rest and nutritious breakfast.

4. I recently came across this awesome website called Teach Train Love. The author is a first grade teacher and she has an awesome list of brain break clips. (And some are on SafeShare.TV not YouTube – Bonus!) We will be using a few of these brain breaks to work out the wiggles during testing. Click HERE to check them out for yourself. My favorite is the Dinosaur Stomp Video and I can’t wait to show it to my kids! I know that they will love it! (Update: THEY DO!)
