sup-ER-heroes (a phonics unit) giveaway! - CLOSED

Have I mentioned before how much I am L.O.V.I.N.G. my Spring Break?

Relaxing and hanging out in my PJs all day has inspired me to create these little superheroes:
These guys will help teach my students about adding "-er" and "-est" to the end of words.

The actual superheroes are "-er" because they are supER.
The first grade superheroes are "-est" because they are the bEST superheroes in the whole world!
(Even better than real, powerful superheroes!)

I am working on a whole entire unit of fun to go along with these character posters!
It isn't finished yet, but the unit will include (and isn't limited to):
*Both Character Posters (-er and -est)
*Games, Games and MORE Games
*Assessments
*Comparison Activities
*Writing Activities
*Word Sorts

This may be my funnest (ha... I won't teach that word to my students...) unit yet!
I am so excited to teach it to my students, because I know they are going to love it!
Hopefully I can talk my husband into dressing up as a SUPERHERO...

--------------------------------

I am so overwhelmed by how wonderful you all are!
I am so happy you like my units (and I hope your students do, too)!
As a thank you, I want to give this unit away to a lucky reader!

  8. My kids are supER because they have finally become a fairly independent functioning class. This is one of the hardest I have every had and they are pretty much there. I couldn't ask for more. Going from one of the easiest to one of the hardest was definitely a challenge!!!

  11. Hi Lindsay my name is Danielle and I just started reading your blog. I am a new teacher too but currently jobs in my area are few and far between after I graduated, so I am working as a teacher's assistant for a first grade class. Your blog is amazing and I am really inspired by it. I used your idea for a poster for key words in addition and subtraction. It is great because my first graders really struggle in the area. They see a word that they don't recognize right away and tend to give up on solving the problem. After I put the poster and went over the words, they have been doing so much better! Thank you so much for sharing your great ideas. Now I am off to follow your TPT store =)

  46. My students are supER because they have such kind hearts. {Background info: My school is a very high poverty school and every single one of my students is on free lunch.} I LOVE all of my students creative Christmas, Valentine's, ... "gifts." I've received many old stuffed animals, tons of drawn pictures (of course, don't we all), half used bottles of perfume, ... But,the best was this year. I had a child bring me a piece of an old nativity set she had at home. Lol! I'm sure mom was wondering where that piece went. Needless to say, I said "thank you" and sent it back home with her.

  84. I think my students are supER because they never give up. It may just be that the dynamic of this group is so amazing--or just that after years of teaching 2nd grade, 1st grade is so refreshing...in any case--I think my students are supER because they persevere, and try so hard. They are awesome!
