do you know when to add "-s" or "-es"?


Along with learning about "y" endings replaced with "-ies", we are also learning about adding "-es" to words.
To help my students remember the rules associated with this phonics skill, I made this anchor chart:

  2. Is it weird that I don't teach this to all of my kiddos? Do you? I teach it to my high groups in Guided Reading, but other than that- hahahaha....should I be teaching it? Is it in the core or is it just something good for them to know! I'm a bad teacher!

  5. I just downloaded and printed this sign - LOVE it.
    (Leave it to my husband to point out that the placement of the 's' and 'x' above the 'e' spell a certain 3 letter word.)
