mrs. potato head | free download |

It is "technically" spring.

Will someone please tell the weather man?

Today we had to have indoor recess due to the snow storm...

I don't like indoor recess.  I don't like snow.

Not. One. Little. Bit.

Maybe if I start planning my spring units, then spring will come?

Maybe...

Last year, when I was a student teacher, I made these with my class:

To plant the grass in pantyhose, you can follow the directions I found here.

Instead of decorating the pantyhose, I decided it would be easier to decorate a clear, plastic cup.

This free download is no longer available! Sorry! :(

  2. What a cute idea! I hate snow and indoor recess too. We had snow today but outdoor recess. The kiddos were crazy today because of the snow...some days they just drive me nuts. Today was one of those days.

  10. I like the pantyhose trick too. I usually make them into caterpillars. I buy the girls pantyhose or trouser socks. They work well.

    Love the potato head idea!

  11. I am so jealous! I am the only classroom in the building with no windows. It is like a cave and nothing will grow.

  14. I teach in Georgia and remembered doing these in elementary school. I have been searching for the right one (so many online call for sawdust, but I remembered using soil). This is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much for posting this!!
